The Summer Edit for Autumn Colour Palettes

Because your palette doesn’t take the summer off!

If you suit warm, earthy tones like rust, ochre, olive, or deep teal- you’ll know that finding pieces in your colours during the summer months can feel a bit like searching for a needle in a pastel haystack.

Most summer collections are filled with cool brights or icy pastels, which can leave Autumn palettes feeling overlooked. But just because the high street’s having a pink moment doesn’t mean you have to.

This summer, I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for high street pieces that work with your Autumn colouring- not against it. Think warm-weather fabrics like linen and cotton, but in tones that truly flatter you.

Whether you’ve had a colour analysis or just know that rich, muted shades make you feel more like you, this edit is for you.

Summer-Ready Finds for Autumn Palettes

Here are a few of my favourite recent high street finds that blend comfort, breathability, and rich tones that suit the Autumn palette beautifully:

Linen Jumpsuit, Whistles £149

A true throw-on-and-go hero. This pure linen jumpsuit in a soft khaki green is as cool and comfortable as it is flattering. The belted waist gives shape without clinging, and the earthy tone is ideal for Autumn palettes. Dress it up with gold jewellery and sandals now, then layer with a long-sleeve tee and boots come cooler days.

Animal Print Skirt, Next £35

Next are nailing it with their range of satin slip skirts this season-think warm-toned animal prints in wearable, elegant cuts. A perfect transeasonal piece, this skirt works just as well with a vest and sandals as it does with a shirt and trainers or a cosy knit and boots in autumn. A great way to add interest and texture to your wardrobe while staying true to your palette.

Linen Shirt, Jigsaw £99

This one’s a long-term love. Jigsaw’s linen shirts are beautifully cut and made to last, and this rich deep orange is absolutely stunning for Autumns. An investment piece for sure, but one that will take you from summer styling to layered autumn outfits year after year. Try it with cream trousers, olive shorts or layered open over a slip dress- or the Next Skirt!

Pointille Cardigan, M&S £35

Lightweight but cosy, this pretty pointelle cardigan adds a gentle texture to summer looks while still offering that just-in-case layer we always seem to need. It’s a great transitional piece- buttoned over a vest or worn loose with jeans or a skirt. Choose a warm neutral or soft rust for an autumn-aligned look.

Raffia Bag, Mango £49.99

The easiest way to pull your outfit together. This raffia crossbody bag adds warmth and texture while keeping things casual and polished. It works effortlessly with any of the pieces above- just the right size for everyday essentials, and neutral enough to carry you into early autumn.

Style Tip

If your palette isn’t in the shops right now- try leaning into neutrals that complement your colouring (like camel, cream, soft brown or warm navy) and add interest with accessories, lipstick, or nail colours in your best shades.
