Clothes Shopping In Wells-next-the-Sea

This half term we had a wonderful week on the Norfolk coast. We have been to Wells-next-the-Sea twice in the past and love it there, with the stunning Holkham estate and picturesque beach huts. It’s three hours from home, which is as long as the toddler can handle at the moment!

Wells itself is still relatively untouched, there aren’t any big chains and the High Street is full of local independents. The town is set a mile inland from the sea and the stunning beach. There are a range of independent clothes shops along the main shopping street at Staithe Street, along with the delightful Joules Pop-Up Shop next to the Holkham Beach. There is something for everyone, whether you prefer bright and eclectic; minimal and sculptural; or practical and stylish. I managed to get a quick stealth hour in during our last visit to browse the summer collections whilst the kids were occupied at the local play park. Here are my go to’s when I visit:

Nomad and the Bower Bird womens clothes shop in Wells Next Sea in North Norfolk stocking Nice Things Paloma, Grace and Mila, King Louie, Sugar Hill Boutique

Nomad and the Bowerbird

This is always my first point of call! It’s got an eclectic range of everyday clothes full of colour and print from brands that you don’t often find like Nice Things Paloma, Grace and Mila and King Louis as well as Sugar Hill Boutique. I always discover a brand I’ve never heard of! They also have a great range of coffee table books and unusual homewear (somebody bought a Pinball Machine whilst I was browsing!)

I bought a stretchy blue belt from Nooki and also found some fabulous chambray trousers but they were OOS in my size so I’ve got to hunt them down!

You can shop online at www.nomadandthebowerbird.co.uk

Redfearn and Feather womens clothes shop in Wells Next Sea in North Norfolk stocking Masai, Two Danes and Yacco Maricard

Redfearn and Daughter

The perfect place if you love a minimalist sculptural aesthetic, refined materials, elegance and comfort. It only has a very small selection, but expertly curated. They stock Danish brand Masai, Scandinavian brand Two Danes and the exquisite Japanese brand Yacco Maricard, alongside a range of homewares.

They are usually open Thursday-Saturday, with extended hours during holiday time.

Joules Beside The Sea a clothes shop on the Wells Next Sea seafront in Norfolk

Joules

I absolutely adore the concept of this beach hut themed shop! Located near the beach rather in town, this permanent pop-up style shop has all the essentials that you may need for a beachside holiday for all the family (including the dog!) In the summer they have swimwear and beach sandals, towels, shorts, tops and dresses. In winter the selection updates to coats and warmer layers.

Shop the full range at www.Joules.com

Simply Norfolk womens clothes shop in Wells Next Sea in North Norfolk stocking Katie Loxton and Brakeburn

Simply Norfolk

Predominantly gifts and home accessories, but tucked away at the very back of the shop is a selection of one off dresses, trousers and tops from brands such as Brakeburn. They also have a selection of Katie Loxton bags, which my client’s will know I’m a big fan of her pouches for an evening out!

Simply Costal womens clothes shop in Wells Next Sea in North Norfolk

Simply Coastal

A large selection of easy to wear casual pieces for all the family. Its got a casual and classic aesthetic, think Joules, Fat Face or White Stuff vibe with plenty of florals and stripes.

I'd love to hear what your favourite British costal town is and if there are any hidden boutiques to visit?
