With the summer holidays coming up and getaways booked, I’ve spoken to a few women who are concerned about the prospect of getting into their swimwear.
The majority of us, especially after having children, struggle with the bottom half of our stomach, that bit that gets very stretched during pregnancy and often leaves us with in loose skin, stretch marks or C-Section pouches. A lot of the ladies I have spoken to like the top of the torso between the belly button and bust and would still like to show this off in a bikini, but with the support and cover of a high wasted brief. So whether you are going to the beach or the pool, here are some of the best styles around so that you can feel confident and most importantly enjoy your holiday!
First a quick reminder…
This is one of 6 styles of high waisted bikinis from Phase Eight, which are always reliable quality. Although it is striped which may scare some, flattering cross over effect on the top and ruching to the tummy will be really flattering. In sizes 8-20, some of which are currently in the sale.
2. Classic Black
The mesh bands on the pants and bra top add a twist to a timeless set. The brief has built in tummy control and available in sizes 8-20. The matching bandeau top ( a different style to the one shown) also comes in cup sizes from C-G with back sizes from 30-38.
3. Colourful Ombre
A colourful set from Autograph range at M&S. The plunge top is available in cup sizes from size A-E. The material is made of the StayNew™ technology keeping it looking like new. It also has Sun Smart UPF50+ which helps protect skin from the sun's rays.
4. Minimal Sunbathing
The minimal belted design with a tie neck bikini top is great if you want to sunbathe without straps when you’re lying down, but then want the support when you’re moving around. limited availability in sizes 6-22, also in black.
5. Animal Print
This is the best photo I could find and doesn’t do the bikini justice. This fun set from Emma Willis range at Next is available in an Ochre print as well as a classic animal print. The bikini top has light padding for a natural boost. The set is available in sizes 6-20.
