Every Mother’s Day I treat my mum with a small gift to say thankyou for all that she does, it’s never extravagant just a small token. Now being a mother myself I really appreciate the thought even more and have been been very lucky to have received some lovey gifts over the last five years, including a mug with Seb’s handprint, a key ring with his date of birth and jewellery.
Generally, I don’t find that women buy jewellery themselves and so it is always and appreciated gift. I also think it’s a great reason to support local businesses, so I’ve picked some stunning pieces which are designed and made by local jewellery makers from across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. There’s a variety of styles to suit all tastes, with pieces from £8 to £45 to suit all budgets.
I first discovered Carolyn’s pieces at a fair at the Roundhouse. I immediately fell for her simple and wearable pieces, which are made from sterling silver. I was gifted the Wimbledon Ring, which has a lovely stretch to it and makes it really comfortable to wear.
