5 Key Pieces for Every Stylish Woman's Professional Wardrobe

Do you want to look professional but stylish in the workplace? Whether your business dress code is casual or corporate, here are my key pieces to keep your professional wardrobe up to date this autumn.

Trench coat. The ultimate cover-up which looks equally great whether worn with skirts or trousers for effortless elegance. The tied belt is great to accentuate a small waist, or tied around the back will create shape. Stick to single breasted if you are larger on the top half and conversely double breasted if you want to add volume.

  2. Patterned trench from Hobbs has a lovely highland flower print which adds a twist to the traditional block coloured versions. It will look great with basic black trousers and skirts to add some pattern. Power suit. For that important meeting, crucial presentation or job interview, every women needs a suit in which they feel confident and powerful. Choose a neutral colour such as Black, Grey or Navy which will coordinate with the other colours in your wardrobe. Ensure that the suit fits you perfectly and have it adjusted by a tailor if the arms or legs are too long,

Just make sure it fits you properly, shapeless white shirts reminiscent of school days will not do anything for any shape and gaping buttons will distract attention from your key messages.

Killer heels. It’s no secret that wearing heels , but they also need to be comfortable. Wearing a pair that constantly pinches and blisters is not good for you or your feet. For ultimate comfort look for styles with a cushioned lining, a wedge or a block heel, which will spread the pressure on your soles.

  2. Many brands are also starting to introduce different width fittings for those of us that don’t fit into the traditional width fittings. Statement Handbag. For those in very traditional professions or very corporate businesses it is often hard to let your personality shine when you have a strict dark suit, light top dress code. A statement bag will provide you with a canvas of expression, whether you prefer a bright colour, bold pattern or give a nod to to latest trend. Whether your budget allows you to invest in the latest designer style by or your budget is more limited, think practically and ensure it has all the internal space you need, whether this be to carry around a client file or your laptop, getting the internal space right will make life so much easier!
